When addressing your leadership, it is advantageous to create a distinction between who you are Being as a leader and what you are Doing as a leader. In this session, we will be attending to both. We’ll begin by zeroing in on the Beingness of leadership and your specific declaration of who you are as a leader and then we’ll focus on various leadership styles that are available to you. In the extensive literature of leadership information, one often finds questions such as, “What type of leader are you?”, “How can you find the type of leader you are?”, “Leadership styles, how to find your own?” We ascertain that even though we have a natural preference for certain leadership styles and we may feel more skilled and prepared in certain ways of leading over others, it is essential that we become knowledgeable and prepared to evoke whatever leadership style is called for in various situations, therefore, Applicable Leadership. We will discuss the pros and cons of 10 leadership styles, and you will begin to plan how to use them in your current situation. Your community members are quite diverse. Practice connecting with them in ways that makes sense and is understandable to them.
